Richborough are preparing an outline planning application for up to 200 new homes, including a range of housing types, biased towards family housing in response to identified local needs. The proposals will deliver a policy compliant 30% (60 homes) as affordable, whilst ensuring accessible and adaptable homes are provided throughout the site.

THE SITE AND SURROUNDINGS


The site comprises agricultural fields and is located within the open countryside. It sits within the “Wensum Northern Slopes” Landscape Character Area and is located to the immediate south of Thanet Parkway Station and just to the west of the village of Cliffsend. Cliffsend offers a small range of services and public transport connections.

The site comprises an area of approximately 8.24ha through which a public right of way (PRoW) runs through the site. This will be retained to provide a walking and cycling route through the site from the southern access point onto Cottington Road to a new proposed pathway, which will connect the site with Thanet Parkway station.

To the north of the site the A299 (Thanet Way) provides connection to the M2 near Faversham and Ramsgate in the East, with the A256 running along the western edge of the site which provides a connection to Dover in the south.

TIMEFRAME AND NEXT STEPS


Our application is due to be submitted in the coming months with timings dependent on a range of factors including the completion of the necessary technical work and the consultation process.
